The Margaret Goering Vocal Scholarship
Margaret Goering was one of the original founders of The Musettes Women's Choir and served as its choral director for decades. She felt strongly about holding choir members to the highest musical standard, insisting on 4-part harmony songs, fully memorized concerts, and continuing musical education for all members. In 1965, she instituted a small vocal scholarship for one Musette member to pursue voice lessons. Since then, the Margaret Goering Vocal Scholarship program has grown to be an important part of The Musettes' legacy and mission.
Student Scholarship (Grades 8-11)
Three (3) student scholarships are awarded annually to promising young vocalists grades 8-11 to help pay for private voice lessons. These scholarships are made payable by The Musettes directly to the music teacher of the student's choice. Scholarship winners may also be asked to sing at one of the Musettes' seasonal concerts as a special guest.
